Do I get to see the dog in person before the day I come to take him/her home?
Yes! You will come visit and work with the dog at least twice before taking the dog home. You will spend as much time as needed to ensure you are comfortable and understand the commands/tools the dog knows that were used during training. Clear communication is VERY important!
What are the behaviors we can expect from a dog you trained?
Sit
Down
Walking appropriately on leash (no pulling / lunging)
Recall
Crate Trained
Place
Some early foundational work in more advanced skills may be included (will vary per dog, particularly if they already know some basic skills).
What do I need to do for my dog to continue to behave and maintain their knowledge of commands, etc.?
Be Consistent!! Training never stops even after you go home! Continue to make you dog work for food. Practice holding commands at home and around distractions. Take them out to public places.
What does my dog need consistently to help them be their best self?
Exercise!! While that may look different for each dog (walks, runs, quality play time, etc), a dog without a ton of pent up energy is much more likely to consistently follow commands. Quality food, remain socialized with other dogs, as well as people.
What supplies do I need when I take my dog home?
None! Included in the price of the dog you will receive their crate, collars, bowl, leash, food, and raised place cot.
